Hold Your Peace is a documentary film by the Women Peacemakers Program showing how nonprofit organizations (NPOs), especially small grassroots and women’s organizations, have had their operating space severely curtailed by counter-terror regulations. This includes losing critical access to resources, as well as the ability to fully use banking facilities; all of which circumscribe how, where, and, in some cases, even whether they can undertake their core work on mobilizing human rights, gender equality, and advancing peace in their communities. The film includes interviews with grassroots women’s organizations in Lebanon, Tunisia and Jordan, as well as with Transnational Institute’s Ben Hayes, Human Security Collective’s Fulco van Deventer, Charity & Security Network’s Kay Guinane and Duke University Law School’s Jayne Huckerby.
